Why Should Pets Have Their Eye Pressure Checked?
Tonometry involves checking and measuring your pet’s eye pressure. The reason we might recommend this test for your pet is if they have the potential to develop glaucoma in one or both of their eyes. Glaucoma is a condition in which higher than normal intraocular pressure (fluid pressure within the eye) pushes on the optic nerve, causing damage. Without treatment, glaucoma can result in permanent vision loss.
